Welcome to the website of Cabinas Yemanya!

JUNGLEBEACH PRIVATE HOUSES, 150M. FROM THE BEACH.

Just in the jungle of the Caribbean  foams which resonates on the beach. Palms twitch in the breeze and time clocks are extinguished. Yemanya Cabins is situated under the trees and coconuts. Here in a natural and simple way in  the vernacular buildings, you can relax. Enjoy the big and small creatures like crabs, ants, birds, monkeys and sloths , they walk, fly and climb in this corner of the Caribbean shore of Costa Rica.
The ability to walk to the farm Maracu, where you can look at the ancient trees more then 500 years old and feel the power of tropical rain forest, can be combined with walks on the beach, and swimming in one of the most important reef regions of the country.

Yemanya, the goddess of the sea and love binds us to the myth, the ability to feel close to the gods of nature. Four cabins are here, to ensure that you can relax and sleep comfortably. Here you will enjoy this eco-garden to make you feel the happiness that only give us the essence of nature.

On the other side of the road from the cabinas, a dense tropical forest can be explored. We organise hikes through this piece of paradise, for information look under forest finca. When you come back from this intensive walk, or other exercises, just dive into the sea, relax on the beach and enjoy the beautiful sunset. If you want to explore the surrounding area we also rent bikes.

Besides the beautiful and relaxing beach area, you can also go into the Talamanca mountains to explore the traditional lives of the BriBri indians. Several tour operators organise tours, we can provide some of the information regarding this tours. A hike from Manzanillo to Punta Mona should be considered as well, as it is not crowded and it is very special. In Manzanillo you can get a guide that will explain all about the local life, medicinal plants, and stories about the first habitants of this area.

How to get here?

By car: take to the road to Limon and from there take the road to Sixaola . Once you reach Honecreek you take the road to Puerto Viejo. The cabins are located 4 kilometers from downtown Puerto Viejo on the road to Manzanillo.

By bus:

Buses for Puerto Viejo leave from the Terminal Atlantico Norte (also known as Terminal de Buses San Carlos) located on Calle 12 between Avenidas 7 and 9 in Barrio Mexico in San Jose. Caution: there are two towns called Puerto Viejo. You want Puerto Viejo de Talamanca (also known as Puerto Viejo de Limon). The bus company that goes there is Transportes Mepe. Ticket prices are about $10US for this approximately 5 hour trip and the bus makes one 20 minute stop in Limon for bathrooms and something to eat. You have 4 direct buses to Puerto Viejo and one direct bus to Manzanillo. From Puerto Viejo you can take a taxi $6 US to Cabinas Yemanya. If you take the Manzanillo Bus you can get off in front of the cabins, just tell the bus driver where you are heading.

If the express bus schedule does not meet your needs, you can also take one of the very frequent buses to Limon (2 1/2 hours) and then transfer there to a bus heading to Puerto Viejo which will take another 1 1/2 hours or so. Buses to Limon leave from the Caribbean Bus Terminal located on Calle Central about 8 blocks North of the Parque Central. Before you head to Limon though, make sure there will be a connecting bus to Puerto Viejo otherwise you’ll be stuck in Limon overnight or taking a taxi. You can also save a couple of dollars going this route. Note that in Limon you will need to transfer from the main bus terminal where the San José buses arrive to the Puerto Viejo terminal which is a few blocks away. ..
